Description:

This is a very nice example of a WWII German G41 rifle manufactured by Berlin-Lubecker Company. These rifles were manufactured late 1942 to early 1943. This entire series of rifles were used only for a limited time before all production switched to the G/K43 series of rifles. This rifle has the early type 1 all machined receiver that is marked on the left side: "G41 duv 43/Eagle/214" followed by the serial number "5793h". It is fitted with all the correct early all machined components, to include the bolt, bolt carrier, gas cone, early action cover as well as most of the internal parts. The visible serial number on the various parts are all matching. It is fitted with a laminated stock with a smooth cupped sheet metal buttplate, with a double Waffenamt Eagle/214 proofs on the right side of the buttstock with a single proof in the pistol grip area. The rifle is equipped with the correct dark red/brown phenolic resin (plastic) handguard as manufactured in 1941/42 time frame. The stock is number "5793h" on the underside It has the standard military sights with the blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated from 1-12 (100-1200 meters). It is complete with an unmarked WWII leather sling, front sight cover and cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus of the original blued finish overall with blue loss and thinning on the edges and high spots overall with blue loss on the exposed front area of he barrel and gas cone. The stock and handguard are both in very fine condition with nice clear markings on the sides, showing light handling marks, scratches and pressure dents on the sides. The previous owner has carved their initials: "F.S." into the underside of stock above the serial number. A scarce early variation of the G41 semi-automatic rifle.
