Manufactured in 1935 as indicated by the "S" code marking over the chamber. The pistol is serialized in the late military style adopted in 1935 with the full serial number "2788" marked on the front of the frame and left side of the barrel extension. The trigger, takedown toggle, breech block, and toggle links are all marked with the partial serial number "88". The side plate is marked "88/42" on the outside and "88" over an "eagle/2" proof on the inside. The right side of the barrel shows a mix of standard Krieghoff proofs and British commercial proofs. The right side of the barrel extension also shows a mix of standard Krieghoff proofs, the "eagle/2" luftwaffe acceptance mark, and a British "crown/V" proof. The pistol has a polished blue finish with straw colored small parts, "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the safety and extractor respectively, unmarked bright safety block, British "crown/V" proofs on most of the components, and "NOT ENGLISH MADE" marked faintly on the left side of the frame. The main toggle is marked with the later style "H K/KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" marking. Fitted with fully checkered plastic grips. Includes a nickel finished magazine with an aluminum base numbered to the gun.

Very good as partially refinished (cold blue on muzzle) with 80% of the blue finish and about half of the bright straw finish on the balance of the pistol. Some scattered areas of light pitting, high point and edge wear, and scattered surface scratches are present overall. The side plate is a renumbered replacement as the markings are inconsistent with the serial number range for that style. The grips are very fine with general handling marks and some slight chipping near the magazine release. Mechanically excellent.
