These rifles were a standard pre-war training rifle that was pressed into service by many German units and were intended to duplicate the weight and feel of the standard K98 rifle. The top of the receiver ring is marked with the block "G" logo over "GUSTLOFFE-WERKE / Waffenwerk-Suhl". The right side of the receiver is marked " KK. WEHRSPORTGEWEHR" and the left side of the barrel is marked "KAL 22 LANGE FUR BUCHSEN", followed by the serial number and the "eagle/N" proof mark. The "eagle / N" is also marked on the left side of the receiver. The stock is a European walnut with two barrel bands, handguard, bayonet lug, sling swivels, and steel buttplate. It has the military style tangent rear sight, graduated to 200 meters. The rear sight ladder and base are numbered "142".

Very good as refinished and rear sight replaced. Showing 90% of the blue with finish wear around the muzzle from the cover, scattered small scratches and general handling marks. The stock has been duffle bag cut at the second barrel band is fitted together with a wooden dowel rod. The wood shows small indentations throughout, general handling marks, and moderate rough spotting on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.

This Erma DSM34 training rifle is fitted with a ramped inverted "V" front and tangent style rear sights with the rear sight graduated to 200 meters. The top of the chamber is marked "ORIGINAL" over the Erma logo over "FABRIKAT". The right rear of the receiver is marked "Deutches Sportmodell", with the left receiver side marked with a crown over "B" and "U" proof followed by the serial number and the one line address below. "KAL 22 LANG FUR BUCHSEN" is marked on the left rear. Full pistol grip stock with matching handguard and steel buttplate. All visible numbers are matching. Includes a muzzle protector and leather sling.

Fine with 80% plus original blue finish. Showing some finish wear around the muzzle from the protector, small scattered surface scratches and dings, and general handling marks. The wood is also very good with flattened metal bolt disassembly discs, handling marks, scattered indentations, oxidation on the buttplate, and some areas of darker discoloration. Mechanically excellent.
