A) U.S. Colt Model 1917 Double Action Revolver

Description:

Manufactured in 1920. Fixed blade front and rear frame notch sights, with "COLT D.A. 45" on the left side of the barrel, two line address and patent markings on top and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the underside. An "eagle/S18" inspection mark is present on the left side of the frame, with the Rampant Colt below it. "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917/No./124/629" is marked on the butt. Fitted with smooth unmarked grips with a lanyard swivel.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 70% plus of the original blue finish with scattered minor scratches, high edge wear and a faint cylinder drag line on the cylinder, and the back strap mottling to a smooth gray patina. The markings are clear. The slightly undersized replacement grips are good with scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 85% of the original blue finish with scattered scratches, a faint cylinder drag line, and the trigger guard and grip strap areas mottling to a smooth silver patina. The markings are clear. The grips are fine with scattered scratches, wear on left butt panel, and dings. Mechanically excellent.
