Manufactured in 1944. The left side of the slide is marked "REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A .", the left side of the frame is marked with the "FJA" inspector marking and "P" directly below the magazine release. The right side of the frame is marked with the cross cannon cartouche behind the top of the grip, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" ahead of that. The barrel is marked "P" on the left side and "HS" on the right side of the lug. Checkered stamped trigger, and narrow hammer, serrated slide stop, thumb safety and arched main spring housing with a lanyard ring on the butt and blue magazine. Low profile fixed sights. Fitted with checkered Keyes fibre grips with reinforcing rings around the screws and marked with the five point star, with "K" in the center on the inside. Includes a 1944 dated, "U.S." marked Enger-Kress M3 holster. The holster is also marked "M4736" on the interior and "HAROLD M. MORROW/T-134736" on the front. Consignor states that this pistol and holster are from the army air corp.

Very fine as arsenal refurbished with 95% of the post-war green parkerized finish. Showing areas of light edge wear, cycling marks on the frame and slide, and markings buffed slightly light and finished over. The grips are excellent with some light handling marks. The holster is fine with flexible leather, some verdigris at the metal fittings, and small scuffs throughout. Magazine is a modern replacement. Mechanically excellent.
