Manufactured in 1942. This Ithaca model 37 features a single brass bead sight on the bayonet adaptor with a 6 hole sheet steel handguard with a gray parkerized finish. The barrel has a 2 3/4 inch chamber, improved cylinder choke, standard model and patent markings, and the U.S. government "flaming bomb/P" marking at the breech. The receiver is marked "P/US" on the left side near the breech. The matching serialized barrel, magazine tube, and receiver have a standard commercial blue finish with roll stamped game scenes on either side of the frame. Mounted with a multi-point checkered slide handle and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap and serrated hard rubber buttplate. Length of pull is 13 7/8 inches.

Very fine as modified with 85% of the original blue finish. Displaying areas light edge wear, cycling marks on the magazine tube and action arm, and scattered light surface rust. The handguard is not original to the gun, and has light marring on the middle screw, and some fitment issues with the attaching screws. The wood is fine with mild bruising in the checkering, general handling marks, light scattered indentations, and areas of chipped finish. Mechanically excellent.
