Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1862 and has the standard markings and features, including small inspection marks and matching serial numbers. The included notarized affidavit from 1986 signed by Dale Fike states that this revolver was purchased in Hooversville, Pennsylvania in 1966, and the buyer was then informed by Charles Kantner of Davidsville that the revolver was used during the Civil War and "is known to have been used in the killing of a Confederate General by the name of General Erickson." No Confederate general by that name is known, but many men with the last name or a spelling variant fought for both sides and some were likely lower ranking officers.

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver has a mottled brown patina and some mild pitting. The brass components have a lightly aged patina. The grips are also good with faint cartouche and have only moderate edge wear. The action functions fine, and the markings are crisp.
