Description:

Operating out of San Francisco, Will & Finck produced a wide variety of metal and sporting goods, and are associated with the California Gold Rush. Measuring 10 3/4 inches overall, with a 6 1/4 inch clip point blade marked "WILL & FINCK/(illegible) CAL." on the left ricasso. Fitted with a silver oval guard and ferrule, and a contoured one-piece grip. With a brown leather sheath. Included with the knife is a copy of "The Antique Bowie Knife Book" by Adams, Voyles and Moss.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The blade shows evidence of heavy use, with the edge of the blade visibly shifted backwards by sharpening, a mixed cleaned patina, and scattered pitting. The grip shows a number of age cracks, as well as a fine color and grain. The sheath is in rough shape, with the belt loop/hanger removed from the top and extensive cracking.
