Description:

Measuring 11 1/2 inches overall, with a 6 1/2 inch blade, stamped "MANSON/SHEFFIELD" on the left ricasso with a 4 1/8 inch false edge. The left side is etched "OK" in the center, with "AMERICANS/ASK FOR NOTHING BUT WHAT IS/RIGHT" on the left and "AND WILL SUBMIT/TO NOTHING/WRONG" on the right. The hilt is cast German silver, with an oval guard and raised scroll decorations on the grip. With a black leather sheath with German silver fittings and gilt decorations.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The otherwise fine blade shows some mild spotting and handling marks, with the etching faded but still legible and the hilt showing a brown patina in the lower areas. A few light scuffs are visible on the sheath, with the frog stud lost and some mild dings and verdigris on the fittings.
