Description:

Measuring 14 1/4 inches in overall length, with an unmarked 9 1/2 inch clip point blade. The hilt is fitted with "electrum" (which can be either a gold/silver alloy or a higher grade of nickel/German silver, depending on where and when you ask) furniture, accented with copper beads, and the smooth bone grip scales are secured with copper rivets, decorated with three copper and brass discs on the left panel and an unmarked German silver inscription panel on the right. With a floral tooled black leather sheath and a copy of "The Antique Bowie Knife Book" by Adams, Voyles and Moss, with this knife described and pictured on pages 124-125.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The blade shows a mixed brown and gray patina, with evidence of old sharpening and cleaning, as well as a few light nicks on the edge and tip. The hilt is also fair, with some age cracks in the left panel, filler around a few of the pins, a bead detached from the pommel and mild handling marks overall. The sheath is poor, with holes, tears, and stitching loss.
