The Model 1894 is by far one of the most popular hunting rifles every manufactured. Millions have been sold since this John M. Browning design hit the market in the late 19th century. This example was manufactured in the very first year of production and features a replacement blade front sight with red insert, an adjustable buckhorn rear sight, a tang mounted Marble peep sight, special order close coupled double set triggers, and a standard forearm and buttstock. It has the standard early markings including the early serial number "2303" on the bottom of the frame.

Very fine. 80% plus of the original blue finish remains, and the lever retains 60% original case colors. The hammer and buttplate have primarily a gray patina mixed with patterns of casehardening. The loading gate retains 60% original nitre blue. There is some minor edge wear and limited spotting. The wood is excellent and has only minor pressure marks. Mechanically excellent and the markings are crisp.
