Manufactured in 1887. The barrel is fitted with a dovetailed German silver blade front and elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sporting sight. The top flat is marked with the two-line New Haven address and "32 LONG" at the breech. The lower tang is marked with the patent date and the serial number. Mounted on a smooth Schnabel tip forearm with an ebony tip insert, and straight grip stock with a casehardened crescent steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the original blue finish on the barrel and 75% of the original case colors on the receiver. Showing areas of light spotting and mild edge wear on the barrel, and crisp markings. The receiver has light freckling throughout, good vibrant colors, light silvering along the edges, general handling marks, and clear markings on the tangs. The tangs show some heavier spotting. The lever has aged to a smooth mostly gray patina. The wood is very good with small scratches scattered throughout, small indentations, glossy finish, and general handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
