This is an example of a WWII G41 rifle that was manufactured by Berlin-Lubecker Company. These rifles were manufactured in late 1942 to early 1943 before production switched to the G/K43 series of rifles. This rifle has the early type 1, all machined receiver and various components including the bolt, bolt carrier, gas cone, early action cover as well as most of the internal parts. The receiver side wall is marked "G41 duv 43/eagle/214" followed by the serial number "1029g". It has the correct matching late war laminated stock that is marked on the right side with a double "eagle/214" Waffenamt proof and a single "eagle/214" Waffenamt proof in the pistol grip area, with the matching serial number (1029g) on the underside of the stock, and all visible external numbers matching. The rifle is equipped with the correct dark red/brown phenolic resin (plastic) handguard manufactured in 1941/42 time frame. It has the standard military sights with the blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated from 1-12 (100-1200 meters). Interestingly, this rifle shows some shrapnel or a bullet strike damage on the left rear side of the receiver and stock. It was hit just on the lower edge of the receiver and top cover, so the metal was deformed but not enough to render the rifle inoperable. The stock in that area took the most damage: a knocked out a chunk of the wood that has now been worn or sanded over slightly. It is complete with a leather sling and two K43 marked magazines in a reproduction canvas pouch.

Very good with 40% of the faded original blue finish remaining overall and the exposed metal surfaces showing considerable thinning and blue loss and battle damage on left rear receiver. The stock and handguard are in very good condition with a nice dark brown color overall with visible stock proofs, showing numerous light pressure dents, dings and scratches overall from field use, as well as the battle damage noted above. Mechanically fine.
