Description:

This unmarked shotgun is similar to those produced by J.P. Sauer & Son during the time period. Fitted with a single bead sight on the matte solid rib. The barrels feature standard German proofmarks on the bottoms, Krupp Stahl markings on the left side of the chamber area, and a detailed Luftwaffe eagle marking on the right side of the chamber. The chambers are 2 3/4 inches, and the chokes are full/full. The receiver shows some light engraving and the serial number but is otherwise unmarked. Fitted with dual triggers and a tang mounted thumb safety. Mounted on a multi-point checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a vented Pachmayr recoil pad. Includes an enameled steel takedown case with a partitioned interior with a wine colored cloth covering. It is known that the Luftwaffe utilized shotguns as a part of gunnery training.

Rating Definition:

Good as partially refinished (barrels) with 85% of the blue and faint traces of case colors in the receiver. The barrels show a few small indentations, light scratches moderate spotting, light pitting and some indentations under the blue. The wood is fair with a few small indentations, a chip that has been repaired at the toe, some small gaps at the frame junction, and sanding marks on the butt at the junction with the recoil pad. The forearm has a crack from the tip to the hardware. Mechanically very good. The case is about good with some areas of chipped enamel on the exterior, brown patina and scattered dings and abrasions.
