This is an exceptionally rare example of an original Persian/Iranian contract Mauser factory cutaway Luger pistol that is serial numbered "35". It is estimated that approximately 2,000 Lugers were manufactured under the contract for Persian (modern day Iran) circa 1935/36. Usually under these foreign contracts Mauser manufactured a handful of cutaway models for training purposes, usually no more than 15-25 total. This example has been extensively cutaway to show all the mechanical functions and has approximately 8 cutaway window areas on each side. These cutaways pistols were usually manufactured at the very beginning of the production contract using what ever components were available. This example has the unmarked chamber area with a single Persian crown proof on the right side of the barrel extension with no other proofmarks. It is correctly serial number in the military manner with all the parts being numbered with serial number "35" in Farsi. It is complete with one original Persian contract magazine that is also correctly numbered "35" in Farsi and correctly matches the pistol. The pistol has the standard Mauser rust blue finish with straw colored small components, trigger, takedown lever, magazine release button, safety and ejector. Grips are checkered walnut without any markings.

Excellent with 98% plus of the blue finish overall with some minor blue loss on the high spots. The 99% straw colors remain fine. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering showing minor handling marks and light nicks in the checkering. Mechanically excellent. A very scarce, high condition Persian Mauser contract cutaway Luger pistol.
