Description:

This is a fine example of an early production DWM Model 1908 commercial Luger semi-automatic pistol. It has the blank chamber with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension, breechblock and underside of the barrel are all stamped with the early crown "U" and "B" firing/acceptance proofs, with an additional "G" and the bore diameter "118,35" on the barrel. A hold-open device upgrade has been performed, with an externally visible pin with the proper small "crown/letter" stamp nearby. With matching commercial numbers overall, straw and niter blue finished small parts, checkered grips and a nickel magazine with hardwood base. Included with the pistol is a brown leather flap holster ink stamped "R.B.A.XVIII" inside the flap, takedown tool and an extra magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with balance retaining 97% plus original blue finish, showing some mild edge wear and handling marks overall. The restrawed and niter blue are vivid and strong, with 90% plus coverage. The grips and magazine bases are unnumbered but excellent, with sharp checkering on the grips and verdigris buildup on the spare magazine. Some mild scuffs and scratches are present on the otherwise very fine holster, as well as some cracking of the strap and a few dark spots. Mechanically excellent.
