This is an example of a late WWI imperial German Luger that was manufactured in 1918. The top of the chamber area is dated 1918 and the front toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has three 'Crown/Script' proofs next to the 'Imperial Eagle' proof, which is also stamped on the top rear section of the barrel. The safety and extractor are correctly marked 'GESICHERT AND GELADEN" and it has the fixed front and notch rear sight with the stock lug on the back strap. Standard military serial number placement. It comes with two tin-plated wood base magazines; one a matching number (9957) and one spare, tin-plated magazine with an unmarked wooden base. It comes with a brown leather holster that is stamped on the front "Schambach & Co./BERLIN/1918". It has a rust blued finish with straw colored small parts and checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% of the original blue finish overall with 98% of the restrawed colors on the smaller parts. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice sharp distinct checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in fine condition with a nice brown color overall showing minor scuffing and wear on the edges and high points. It has tight stitching with clear markings on the front. It has matching numbers to include one magazine except the grips which are unnumbered.
