A) Rare 1921 Dated Weimar Era Army Issue Luger Pistol

Manufacturer: DWM
Model: 1921 Dated
Type: Pistol
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Barrel: 4 inch round
Finish: blue
Grip: walnut checkered
Stock:
Item Views: 2151
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 137
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

This is a very fine example of a early post WWI Weimar era German Army issue Luger pistol. The Treaty of Versailles restricted the Weimar Army to a specific number pistols and rifles. The German Army Lugers fall into three serial number groups; those with no letter or with an "a" or "b" letter suffix, with all being dated 1921/22. This rare example falls into the "a" block and has the correct "1921" dated chamber. This is not a Police issue but a true "German Army" issue Luger as it was never fitted with the police issue trigger or sear bar safeties. The front toggle has the "DWM" logo and the right side of the barrel extension is correctly proofed with the early "Dove of Peace/WaA4" followed by a "Eagle/AYA4" firing proof with the latter also stamped on the barrel. The breech block still retains its original Imperial Eagle firing proof. It has the standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" marked safety and extractor. It comes with one WWI type magazine with an unnumbered wooden base. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips. It has the rust blued finish with straw colored smaller parts.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% blue of the arsenal refurbished blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with the majority of the blue loss on the front grip strap; probably when the Nazi removed the old unit markings. The smaller parts retain 45% of their straw colors overall. The grips are also in very good condition with nice visible/distinct checkering on both sides showing wear across the tops of the checkering. It has matching numbers except the firing pin, grips and magazine, all of which are unnumbered. A nice early 1921 dated Weimar era German Army Luger.

Catalog Page: 137
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Excellent, original WWII Nazi issue "ac-43" coded P38 pistol, manufactured by Walther. It has all matching numbers and parts with the slide stamped "P.38" followed by "5759n/ac 43" with a double "Eagle/359" Waffenamt and Eagle firing proof on the right side. The frame and barrel are both correctly stamped with the matching serial number "5759/n" and both have the correct "Eagle/359" Waffenamt proofs. The locking lug has matching serial number, "759/N" and a Eagle/359 Waffenamt proof. It is fitted with the original Walther manufactured WWII issue red bakelite grips that have the rare mold numbers: "P/1528/2 and P/1529/3" on the back sides. It is complete with one rare original Walther issue commercial magazine, marked on the left side: "P.38v/ac". This desirable pistol comes with a large German identification or banner type flag that is all red with a single large Nazi Swastika with the white back ground sewn on in the middle of the flag. It measures approximately 3 1/2' X 7 1/2'.

Rating Definition:

The P38 is in excellent condition with 95% plus of the original wartime finish with minor edge and high spot wear with some very light thinning on the front grip strap. The grips are in excellent condition with nice dark red color. It has all original matching numbers. The flag is in very good condition with a nice heavy linen cloth type material, that shows only one minor stain in the middle on one side, with the ends having been trimmed slightly. It still shows excellent color with tight stitching in the middle. A nice collectors lot with two scarce pistols and a German flag.
