This is a 1938 dated, P.08 Nazi Luger pistol rig with the "S/42" wartime code for the Mauser factory. As noted the chamber is dated 1938 and the right side of the barrel extension is stamped double "Eagle 63" Waffenamt proof along with the single Eagle firing proof. It is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number on the front of the frame, the underside of the barrel and the left side of the barrel extension with the last two digits on the various small parts. All other markings and features are standard. It is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips with the left grip numbered with a large "07" on the back side. It is complete with two all blued unmarked magazines with aluminum bases. One is matching and marked: "5907/l/Eagle 63" with the other magazine restamped to match the luger. It is complete with a black leather Army holster stamped: "FROST JAHNEL/BRESLAU/1938", and a Eagle/63 proofed tool. These 1938 production P.08 Lugers correctly have the all salt blued finish to include the smaller parts.

Excellent with 98% of the blue finish overall with slight blue loss on the side plate, left side of the muzzle and front rails. The grips are also in excellent condition with some minor handling marks on the sides. It has all matching numbers except as noted above. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in very good condition showing minor scratches and handling marks with clear markings on the back. The face of the holster shows an old repolished finish. A very nice 1938 dated P.08 Luger rig.
