This is a very fine example of a desirable Mauser Model 1896 Cone Hammer semi-automatic pistol complete with an original matching shoulder stock/holster. This model basically became the final frame configuration for the standard 1896 pattern throughout production. These have been collector named a cone hammer due to the shape of the sides of the hammer. This pistol has the scarce fixed rear sight, early long extractor, milled panel frame with the raised rear panel on the left side, with the dovetailed firing pin retained, early wide trigger, and non-reinforced chamber area. The top of the chamber is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N", with the right side stamped with the early Mauser Antlered firing proof with a "double crown/U" proof, on the right side. It has the standard inverted "v" front sight and a late pattern fixed rear sight. It has the standard 23-groove walnut grips, with both numbered on the back sides. This pistol is complete with the lanyard ring stud and ring on the butt and its original matching combination wooden shoulder stock/holster.

Very fine with 85% plus of the slightly faded original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with blue thinning around the lower edges of the magazine and the grip straps. The grips are in very fine condition with nice matching colors on both sides, with minor handling marks with 85% of the original varnish remaining overall. The stock is in very fine condition with light handling marks on the sides from light use and the attaching iron retains 40% of its blue finish overall with the balance a blue/gray patina.
