This is an example of a DWM Model 1906 Commercial American Eagle Luger with the short fat barreled configuration in scarce 9 mm Luger. It is estimated that approximately 3,000 in total were produced in this configuration. The model has the correct short style frame and upper receiver with the 4 inch fat barrel with the chamber area marked with the large American Eagle crest and the DWM logo on the front toggle. Since this is an early "fat-barreled' configuration it does not have any commercial acceptance or firing proofs anywhere. The front of the frame is marked with the full serial number over "GERMANY" indicating export outside of Europe. It has the matching last two digits of the serial number in the various other parts. The pistol is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips. It is complete with correct magazine that has a nickel-plated body with the wooden base correctly marked "Cal 9 m/m" in script. These were made for export to the United States and all have excellent fit and finish with beautiful high polished blue with straw colors on the smaller components.

Very good with 90% plus of the blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear with some thinning on the grip straps. The smaller parts retain most of their refurbished straw colors showing edge wear. The grips are also in very fine condition with nice sharp, distinct checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
