An excellent example of a pre-war commercial rifle manufactured by the Mauser rifle company for the Government of Peru. Blade front and "ski ramp" tangent rear sights, with the receiver marked "REPUBLICA DEL PERU/(national crest)/MAUSER ORIGINAL" on top and "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER-OBERNDORF a/n/MODELO 1909". With the exception of a trigger guard screw and a few unnumbered small components, numbers are matching overall. Fitted with a smooth pistol grip stock, stamped with a conjoined "M/W" on the wrist, with the Mauser banner on the right side, and a flat steel buttplate. With a Simson & Company bayonet (25 3/4" OAL, 20 5/8" quillback blade, ribbed wood grips) and a matching numbered leather sheath.

Excellent, with 98% of the original blue finish, showing a thumb sized patch of pitting on top of the barrel and some scattered handling marks. A few scuffs and dents are present on the stock, which is otherwise excellent. The bayonet shows a small amount of pitting and minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
