Manufactured circa 1909-1928, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer's pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military, intended to serve as a home-grown alternative to imported American and European pocket-sized handguns. While authorized for private purchase and uniform wear, and sold through the officer's union system, the Baby Nambu was never issued directly by the Army or Navy. Fixed sights, with the "cannonball" logo on top of the chamber, the 3-symbol Nambu nomenclature and serial number on the right side of the frame, checkered hardwood grips, and straw finished small parts. With a nickel plated magazine numbered "5568" on the spine and an unmarked brown leather flap holster.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing faded grip straps, some light edge wear and handling marks overall. The grips are very fine with some mild dents and spots of verdigris. The holster is fair, with a replacement front strap, cracking and scuffing overall, and some tearing of the hinge. Mechanically excellent.
