This an excellent example of a scarce DWM Model 22 pistol manufactured between 1921 and 1931 with around 40,000 manufactured. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and barrel, the "DWM" monogram logo is marked on the left side of the slide all other standard German commercial proofmarks are absent. Fixed sights in the matte groove on top of the slide, grip safety, blue unmarked magazine and fitted with the early checkered walnut grips. The pistol includes a Japanese military clam shell style holster fitted for this model pistol. It is known that these models were exported to Japan and were generally carried by officers who had to privately purchase their own sidearms. The Japanese shipped pistols do not have Japanese markings, but are generally identified by the accompanying holsters.

Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish. Displaying some extremely light edge wear. The grips are also excellent with sharp checkering and mild handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fair with some loose or absent stitching, separated seams, scuffs and general handling wear.
