Description:

Manufactured in 1897. Single bead sight on a concave solid rib Damascus barrel marked "PARKER BROS MARKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL". 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked improved cylinder/cylinder, and an extractor. The barrel, water table, and lower tang have matching serial numbers. The water table has the 1887 and 1889 patent dates with "3" over the serial number over "D". The casehardened action features a scroll engraving with a dog and "PARKER BROS" in a banner on each side and four game birds on the underside. The scrollwork extends to the break lever and trigger guard. Double triggers and tang mounted automatic safety. The forearm is numbered to the barrels and has the 1878 patent date on the engraved hardware. Multi-point checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, blank initial oval, skeletonized steel buttplate, and a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: Bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .733/.733 inches; Wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .048/.048 inches; Drop at comb 2 inches; Drop at heel 3 5/16 inches; 0 cast; 13 3/8 inch length of pull.

Rating Definition:

Very good with traces of the original brown finish along the edges of the frame . The barrels have aged to a mostly gray patina with very strong Damascus patterns. The wood is also very good with sharp checkering, intense figuring, and a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
