Solid rib barrels with a bead blade and flip up "poachers bead" front sight and two folding leaf rear sight. Scope mount bases have been added to the rear portion of the rib. The 16 gauge shotgun barrels are choked extra full with 2 9/16 inch chambers lengthened to 2 3/4 inches and marked on the flats. The smaller rifle barrel is proofed on the left side of the rib, gauges at .22 and is a short centerfire cartridge, possibly 22 Hornet. The lower barrel is an 8x57 JR. The Feb 1938 dated nitro proofed barrels are marked "CARL HESSENBRUCH, REMSCHEIN" on the rib forward of the rear sights, and "IMMAN MEFFERT" and "SUHL" on the right and left barrels respectively. The engraved aluminum alloy scalloped box lock action has a cross bolt rib extension, side clips, two triggers (both set), 4 cocking indicator pins, Greener safety, tang barrel selector, and buffalo horn trigger guard. The engraved field scenes have rabbits on the left side and pheasants on the right. Bottom is marked "DURAL/HUBERTUS/SUHL". The checkered pistol grip extra fancy European walnut stock has a horn grip cap and grip plate. With a shadow line cheekpiece, sling swivel and a leather covered recoil pad. Includes a leather covered takedown case with a nickel oil bottle. Shotgun barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .668/.669 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .041/.040 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/4 inch drop at heel; 1/8 inch cast off; 1/8 inch toe out; 14 inch length of pull.

Very good with 85% of the original finish. Displaying general handling marks, clear markings, and light spotting on the barrels. The aluminum frame shows some areas of high point and edge wear, general handling marks, and fine engraving. The wood is very fine with attractive grain, well defined checkering, and light handling marks. Mechanically very good. The case is fine with some age cracks in the straps, general storage and handling marks, and some scuffs.
