Description:

This is an early production Inland M1 carbine in the folding stock M1 AI paratrooper configuration. The Inland barrel is dated "11-42", fitted with a fixed blade front sight, and a type 1 barrel band. The receiver features standard markings, a flat top blue finish bolt, and the two leaf "L" type fixed rear sight. The carbine is mounted in a 2-rivet, "high wood" handguard and stock set with the correct "IO" markings on the inside of the handguard and forearm. The bottom of the pistol grip is marked with the standard "crossed cannon" escutcheon and a faint circled "P" at the back just below the upper folding stock hinge. The correct original folding stock is parkerized steel with a dark leather cheekpiece, brass rivets sitting flush to the leather, and a cast buttplate that is correctly marked with the cast in numbers "B257514 * 4". Fitted with a green canvas web sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% plus of the correct original parkerized finish with 80% original blue on bolt. The barrel has aged to a brown tinted patina. Showing areas of light to moderate edge and high point wear, small scuffs, and general handling marks. The wood is also very fine with crisp original circle """ proof and ordnance mark on bottom of pistol grip. Scattered indentations, light scratches, and general handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent.
