Description:

Manufactured in 1970-71 with standard markings and features. Checkered grips with ambidextrous thumb rests and the butt of the left grip panel stamped "AEA". Includes a Smith & Wesson factory letter confirming the pistol 5 1/2 inch heavy barrel length, blue finish and checkered walnut grips, and that it was shipped on September 21, 1971 to Gil Hebard Guns Inc., Knoxville, IL. The letter also notes Model 41's chambered in .22 Short used standard Model 41 frames which the factory would stamp the -1 after the model number when they were converted to the .22 short prior to shipment. The slide for the .22 short was manufactured from aluminum to function properly with the reduced cartridge load. The .22 short version of the Model 41 was introduced in September of 1960 with a total of one thousand originally shipped in this caliber.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 99% of the original blue finish with a slight ding on the left side of the slide and slight slide edge wear. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering and a few slight dings on the butt. Markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
