Description:

Only an estimated 3,500 of these pistols were manufactured between 1880 and 1911. This early example has the pre-1886 marking "J. STEVENS & CO. CHICOPEE FALLS MASS PAT. SEPT. 6, 1864" on the upper left flat of the heavy full octagon barrel. The serial number is marked on the left side of the barrel as well as the left side of the grip frame under the wood. It has a dovetailed blade and adjustable notch sights, checkered grips, and a standard hooked trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% of the original finish. Showing some light edge wear near the muzzle, and light handling marks. The frame shows light handling marks and a few dings along the edge of the butt. The grips are very fine with well defined checkering and light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
