This desirable .38-55 chambered Winchester Model 1894 rifle with takedown frame was manufactured prior to 1898. It features a blade front sight and an adjustable sporting rear sight on an octagon barrel marked with the two line address/patent dates on the top flat and "38-55" on the upper left flat at the breech. The upper tang is stamped with the three line model, maker, and trademark information, and the serial number appears on the underside of the frame.

Very fine as partially refinished (wood). 85% of the original blue finish remains. Most of the loss is on the upper tang and side of the action. The lever retains 75% original case colors, and the hammer and buttplate have a dark patina. There is some slight edge wear, scratches and minor marks overall. The loading gate retains 70% original nitre blue. The lightly refinished wood is fine and has only a few light scratches aside from a small chip on the right side of the wrist below the hammer. Mechanically excellent and the markings are crisp.
