Fantastic, true life, near full scale, walking African Lions by Antoine-Louis Barye (French: 1796-1875). These massive sculptured bronze lions are a mirror image of each other with one facing right and the other facing left. These male lions are snarling outward as their heads are pointed straight to warn other foes that this is their territory and do not come close to take it away from us. All four feet are on the ground as to take a full frontal charge. Each bronze is signed on the leg "BARYE". The dimensions are approximately 65" L x 25" W x 45" H. Each bronze weigh approximately 320 lbs. If you are looking for bronzes that would defend your property, these are the ones!

Very good overall. The bronzes have only slight handling marks and a smooth brown patina.
