Description:

This majestic standing buffalo looks outward to the domain he rules with four hooves firmly planted on the ground. This art deco style bronze shows the maturity, strength, and muscular build needed for being the Monarch of the Land. The statue is signed at the back lower left side "c 1932 PAUL MANSHIP". The bronze rests on a triple-layered black and white beveled massive marble plinth that measures 26 inches long, 6 1/2 inches high, and 13 1/2 inches wide. The bronze buffalo measures 24 inches long, 14 inches high, and 5 inches wide. The overall weight of the buffalo and detached marble base is approximately 150 lbs.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a nice artificially aged green patina for contrast, a few small scuffs on the hooves, and light handling marks. The plinth shows general handling marks and a few minor scuffs.
