Most massive and magnificent Lying Deer by Pierre Jules Mene (French: 1810-1879). This great almost naturalistic and full scale Stag Deer lying down with the front left leg extended and the right leg tucked inside. The back hooves are lying next to the backside of the deer. The multi point stag is looking forward to survey the domain he controls and feels at ease with the world with no threats to him to come in the distant future. Great detailing of the deer hide, antlers, and ground plinth. The bronze is signed on the base "P.J. MENE". The dimensions are approximately 71" H x 69"L x 41" W. The statue weighs approximately 295 lbs. If you are looking for a naturalistic deer sitting in the woods; this is the one you should have!
