Description:

This elegant single shot rifle features German silver blade front and two leaf rear sights. The barrel is numbered "455" under the forearm, but there are no numbers visible on the receiver. The top barrel flat and receiver top are both marked with a single "crown/V" proof (indicating manufacture in Germany prior to the 1891 proof laws). The casehardened action and lever/trigger guard feature light floral scroll engraving. It also features double set triggers, a checkered Schnabel tip forearm, straight grip stock with a Bavarian style cheekpiece, and a smooth, casehardened buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good as refinished with 98% of the blue finish and case colors showing mostly light handling marks and a few small dings under the blue. There is some minor spotting along the barrel. The receiver shows some areas aging to a silver gray patina with traces of light pitting. The wood is very good with well defined checkering, general handling marks, light scratches, and a small fill repair on the front edge of the cheek piece. Mechanically very good.
