Antoine-Louis Barye (French: 1796-1875). This great detailed bear rests on all four paws as the bear looks onward growling as to either attack or defend his ground. The bear has an open mouth, detailed paws and great chasing of the bearskin. Signed on the left rear foot "BARYE". The dimensions are approximately 17" H x 28" L x 15" W. The bronze weighs approximately 50 lbs.

Excellent with only slight handling marks and a smooth dark patina. Details are clearly defined with varying areas of light and dark.
