Description:

This exceptional piece features a torch bearing chariot rider with two incredibly detailed horses. The male figure is standing upright with a torch in his outstretched right hand, in a pose and style very reminiscent of depictions of the god Apollo. The horses show a very attractive contrasting yellow and red bronze finish with detailed flowing manes and tails. The chariot itself has a solid brass tongue, very nice details and individual brass ribbon reins. The piece rests on a 23 1/2 inch by 11 7/8 inch white/cream onyx base. The statue alone measures 25 inches long, 10 3/4 wide, and 15 inches tall.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall.
