Description:

These bronzes were made by Frederic Remington (American: 1861-1909). 1) "Trooper of the Plain". The bronze depicts a Cavalry sergeant with a rifle and sabre riding a horse while on patrol. The artist signature is on the bronze base. The bronze measures approximately 22 1/2" high x 21" long x 7" wide. Mounted on a 1" black marble plinth with brass plaque. The bronze weighs approximately 41 lbs. 2) "Rattle Snake". The bronze depicts a horse and its rider spooked by a rattlesnake on the ground. The artist signature is at the horses two back feet. The bronze measures approximately 19" high x 16" long x 11" wide. Mounted on the bronze base. The bronze weighs approximately 22 lbs.

Rating Definition:

1) Excellent with only slight handling marks and a smooth dark patina. The marble plinth has a high gloss. 2) Very good with minor scratches and wear on the cowboy's left arm and the horse's rear. The bronze also has some light verdigris.
