Description:

Manufactured from 1954 to 1956. Fewer than 2,500 Marshals were manufactured. This revolver was apart of the fifty present of Colt Marshals manufactured without the "M" serial number suffix stamped on the frame and cylinder crane. Standard markings with a serrated ramp front blade and a rear square frame notch sights. Fitted with checkered grips with silver Colt medallions. The included factory letter states that this revolver was shipped on October 18, 1955 to Wyoming Wholesalers of Casper, Wyoming. The letter also confirms the finish, barrel length and caliber. Both the revolver and factory letter are featured on pages 140 and 141 of "The Colt Double-Action Snub-Nose (Pocket) Revolver: an Eighty-Year Survey 1877-1957" by Gary H. Peer. Complete with a signed copy of Gary H. Peer's book.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 80% of the original blue finish with minor scattered scratches and dings, minor muzzle wear, high edge wear and a faint cylinder drag line on the cylinder. The top of the frame, cylinder, trigger guard, and grip straps are mottled to a smooth brown patina. The grips are very good with minor scattered scratches and dings. The checkering has moderate wear. Mechanically excellent.
