Description:

This is a very fine example of a fully functional WWII British MKII STEN submachine gun. These SMGs were the workhorse of the British and United Kingdom forces throughout WWII to include many U.S. and Free French Resistance forces as well as Allied paratroopers and special operations units. They were produced in several configurations with the MKII being the most widely used and remained well in service until the 1970s. They are a simple blow-back operated SMG that can be fired both in full or semi-automatic. It is estimated that well over 1 million were produced with an estimated manufacturing cost of approximately $9.00 each. During WWII they were produced by three primary factories, BSA Shirley, the Royal Ordnance factory at Fazakerley, and by Long Branch in Canada. This wonderful example was manufactured using a new receiver tube made by "DLO", who was Douglas Oefinger a very well known Class III manufacturer in the 1980s and 90s. The magazine well housing is marked "9l9565/STEN MKII/LONG BRANCH". While the top of the magazine well is marked with the unique "Chinese markings" indicating that at one point this mag well/part set was given and or used by the Nationalist Chinese. The receiver/tube itself is unmarked however the right side of the trigger housing is stamped "DLO STAMFD/MKII CT". This example has earlier wire loop type buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as rebuilt (see above) with 95% plus of the gray parkerized finish overall showing some area of thinning mixed with some spots of browning on the barrel jacket from use and handling. This fine STEN MKII does not come with any magazines or accessories however all of that stuff, mags, spare parts, barrels, etc are readily available and cheap on the secondary market. If you are looking for a basic WWII type entry SMG, this is the one as they are a super fun to shoot and relatively cheap to own and operate. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATF) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
