Description:

Second variation manufactured circa 1892. The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address/patent dates (including the March 1, 1892 date), the top of the receiver is marked "MARLIN SAFETY", and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Dovetailed blade front and adjustable rear sporting sights, full length tube loading magazine, blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially refinished, (the receiver) with 80% original blue finish remaining on the barrel. The receiver retains 75% blue finish with some edge wear, a few scratches and some minor spotting. Much of the faded original case colors remain on the hammer, and 40% faded original case colors remain on the lever with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The wood remains fine with a number of nicks and dings on the upper right rear of the forearm and overall some minor dents, dings and scratches. The markings are clear. The action functions fine, but trigger return spring is broken.
