Description:

This is a fine example of a WWII German MG-34 medium machine gun as used throughout WWII by all German forces. These were developed prior to WWII by the Rheinmetall company and were an excellent and very reliable machine gun. They were manufactured with all machined parts that were, in many cases, hand fitted with exacting tolerances, that proved to be too time consuming and costly to produce so they were eventually replaced with the later easier to manufacture, stamped and machined MG-42. This example was manufactured in 1944 by the BRNO factory in Czechoslovakia with the top of the barrel jacket marked "dot/1944/150e", with serial number "2811" on the top cover. The top rear flat of the receiver is stamped with a small "WaA63/9168a" indicating it was originally manufactured by the Mauser factory. The Law Enforcement Ordnance Corporation address is present on the left side of the receiver. Although this weapon has mismatched numbers, this is fairly common in these early use weapons as many of the guns parts were cannibalized for use on other weapons during heavy use with many parts also discarded before the gun was capture later in the war. This fine example is complete with the original sights, and bipod.

Rating Definition:

Very good as assembled with 80% of its blued finish overall showing wear and use during WWII. Mechanically needs adjustment. The buttstock is also in very good condition with a dark brown finish overall showing handling marks on the sides with a red painted "PE" mark on the right side. NOTE: This weapon is a restricted, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. This weapon is currently registered as being "LIMITED TO USE AS A SALES SAMPLE (Pre-86)" and as such can only be purchased by an FFL, with a Class 2 or Class 3 SOT License.
