Description:

This is a rare, completely intact, and fully registered WWII Japanese Type 10, 50mm grenade discharger. This was the standard hand carried infantry model that was developed in 1921 and used all the way through WWII. It effectively bridged the gap between the standard hand and rifle grenade that had an effective range of approximately 175 meters. It was a continuous fire weapon in that all you had to do was drop the grenade down the barrel and pull the small trigger/lanyard on the side of the barrel extension. The firing range of the round was adjusted by simply rotating the larger rings on the very bottom of the barrel to either open or close the gas escape ports located on this rig. Obviously by closing the ring you could fire the round farther and vise-verse. It was aimed by simply sighting down the line on the side of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Fine as reblued a long time ago with the metal showing light pitting and erosion overall the metal parts. This is a very scarce/rare item as most were all demilitarized by drilling a large hole through the side of the barrel, which this example remains completely functional. NOTE: This Destructive Device is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
