Block mounted bead front sight with matted ramp, flip up moon sight and tunnel cover with checkered band. Short matted quarter rib with matted rear sight of one fixed and two folding leaves each with gold inlaid center line and graduated from "75" to "150" yards. Blacked receiver engraved "RIGBY'S/SPECIAL/.416 BORE/FOR/BIG GAME" on the receiver ring and factory fitted with bases for quick detachable telescopic sight mounts. The telescopic sight mount respectively engraved "J. RIGBY & CO. LONDON" and "CAL .416 NO. 10314" on the rings and fitted with a Swarovski "Z6 1-6x24 EE" telescopic sight. Blued magazine lifting plate and extractor, blacked cocking piece with serrated thumb safety and "SAFE" with an arrow inlaid in gold, and bolt handle with checkered panels on the knob. Blacked magazine floor plate with gold inlaid "CAL .416/RIGBY", trigger guard with gold inlaid serial number, and pistol grip cap with hinged trap cover with the Rigby trademark inlaid in gold. Figured 14 inch pistol grip stock including 3/8 inch rubber faced butt pad, and with raised cheekpiece, checkered grip and forearm. The underside of the butt inset with a gold escutcheon engraved with the initials "SB" and with the rear sling mounting eye. Weight 11 lbs. 13 oz. including telescopic sight.

Excellent. Barrel retaining nearly all its original blacked finish with minor rubbing around the muzzle, ring joints for the sling band and front sight visible. Receiver retaining nearly all its original blacked finish, some wear to the bluing on the extractor and magazine lifting plate in line with light use. Some surface corrosion visible within the serrations on the safety catch and checkered panels on the bolt handle. The finish on the telescopic sight mounts is fading to a plum color. Telescopic sight optics are clear. Stock with some light handling and storage marking, checkering remains crisp. Magazine floor plate and trigger guard each retaining nearly all their original finish, some minor wear to finish on the pistol grip cap. Overall a fine example of a bench made London Rigby big game rifle that has seen only light use.
