Manufactured in 1882. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, a small "44" on the underside, the left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates, and the left front of the trigger guard bow is marked "44 CF". Matching serial numbers and "412" assembly number on the loading gate. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, the frame and hammer were casehardened and blue remaining parts. Fitted with a smooth one piece walnut grip.

Good. All of the metal surfaces have a smooth mottled gray patina. The replacement ejector rod head is bent to the rear. Overall there are some minor dents and some minor pitting. The front sight has been altered by filing down. The refinished grip is very good with a small amount of varnish remaining and showing some minor dents and dings. The top line of the patent dates is partially obscured by pitting; otherwise, the markings are legible. The action functions but needs work as the hammer does not hold fully on half cock.
