Description:

Manufactured 1916-1918 and proofed for issue to the Imperial German armed forces. Blade front and 500-meter tangent rear sights, with the three-line address on the top chamber flat, "crown/crown/U" on the chamber and bolt, "crown/gothic letter" on the right side of the chamber and the two-line address on the right side of the frame. External numbers are matching overall with a New Safety hammer, slotted back strap, and matching numbered 26-groove grips with a branded and red-filled "9" on each panel. Included with the pistol is a matching numbered hardwood stock, cleaning rod, spare magazine spring, and a black leather harness marked "ACT.GES.H.THIELE/DRESDEN./1916." and "XIII 16" on the back.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 75% of the original blue finish, showing bright wear on the high edges and underside of the barrel, a brown patina on the back strap, scattered light handling marks and some mild spotting. The rear grip strap attaching iron slot has been repaired and shows filing marks under cold blue. The grips are good, with some mild dents and verdigris buildup. The stock is renumbered to match, and it and the harness show wear and tear appropriate to age and field use, with some cracking and tearing of the leather and the stock showing a number of cracks and a "field" style repair consisting of alloy wire and steel tacks. Mechanically excellent.
