Description:

Developed in 1940, the "tropeneinheitsfeldmuetze" was intended for use in high-heat environments, most prominently North Africa and some areas of the Mediterranean. In overall design it was patterned after the Mountain Cap, though adjusted to be lighter and provide better sun protection. Originally manufactured in an olive green twill cloth, this cap shows very heavy sun bleaching, as well as a very early waffenfarbe "soutache" between the brown cloth "tropical eagle" and "cockade" patches, as well as a set of four alloy grommeted vent holes, an extended sun visor and a red cloth lined interior. The soutach is either pink (panzer) or a faded red (artillery/flak).

Rating Definition:

Good as notably sun-faded, with some stains, scuffs and lost stitching.
