Patterned as closely as possible after the Gewehr 98 military rifle, the "Wehrmannsgewehr" was intended for civilian or paramilitary target practice, using the commercial 8.15x46 cartridge instead of the 7.92x57, which was restricted post-WWI. Blade front and tangent rear sights with a windage adjustment knob and graduations for 100, 175 and 300 meters. The barrel is marked with the caliber and "crown/letter" proofs on the left side, the latter repeated on the receiver with the Mauser "banner" logo on the ring and a one-line Oberndorf address on the side wall. The receiver is completely solid on the underside, with an integral single round loading tray. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a flat steel buttplate.

Excellent, with 98% of the bright original blue finish, showing some light handling marks overall, bright edge/cycling wear, and a few areas of spotting. The stock is very good, with mild dings and dents. Mechanically excellent.
