Description:

Manufactured in 1943, with "M.P." on the heel of the butt and "NO.2735" on the back strap. While not documented, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police used the New Service in 455 Webley and 45 Colt through much of the early 20th century, including into the 1940s. Blade front and notch rear sights, the two-line Hartford address and patent dates on top of the barrel, "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT" on the left side of the barrel, "VP" and "Y" on the left side of the trigger guard and the Rampant Colt on the side plate. The knurled hammer, cylinder catch and smooth trigger are finished in a dark royal blue, with polished sides on the hammer. Fitted with a lanyard swivel and a pair of "COLT" imprint grips. With a Colt "black box" hand-numbered to the revolver, with appropriate white-on-blue end label and a test target for a different revolver.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 97% plus original blue finish, showing some mild handling marks and bright edge war. The grips are also excellent, with a few mild dings. The box is very good, with some stains, scuffs and edge wear. Mechanically excellent.
