The letter also indicates the revolver was charged to "Arms Selling Expense" and was the sole gun of this type shipped to Smith Wadsworth Hardware Company in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 30, 1930, in factory order 18819/1. V.R. Simpson is listed in period directories as a Charlotte police officer. Other than the inscription, the revolver has standard markings and features. The box has the matching number in pencil on the bottom and coordinating end label. It contains reprinted papers.

Very fine overall with 95% plus original nickel plating, some small spots of light flaking, minor frosting, light scratches and marks, and crisp checkering and markings. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with moderate storage wear, including some creasing, flaking, and slight tears.
