Manufactured in 1912 with seldom encountered 4 1/2 inch barrel. Standard Colt markings with the addition of a factory rework mark on the right side of the frame. The two-piece box has been has an Army Special end label with 4 1/2 inch barrel length. Comes with reprinted papers such as "Shooting Suggestions," "Colt Army Special Revolver," and "Special Notice."

Very fine as factory refinished ("star" marked on right side of the frame) with blue over a pitted area on the left side of the frame above the "VP" proof. Otherwise, it retains over 98% factory blue finish. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The worn box is fair with a split corner, couple of tears and some minor staining.
